At IERI FASHION SHOW

IERI is about heritage, values and families – our space is for everyone. Though we do not yet sell fashion for kids, every year we have a tradition to organize a special day for kids. In 2019 we had a real battle for Colchis and the Golden Fleece. This year we did a fashion show. Well, not exactly we did, actually we invited our friends together with their children and asked them to organize a real fashion show. Mothers were supposed to be models. Kids did the rest.

Famous TV hosts – Salome Ashba and Manika Asatiani, a famous Georgian national ballet dancer – Natia Bakuradze, the designer behind the brand Muzaradi – Ketevan Kherkheulidze and dearest friends and partners of the store like model Irinka Chkhenkeli, doctor Nata Rogava, photographer Marina Karpiy and others – all were ready to be controlled and styled by their stylish children.

One would assume the day would be chaotic and unorganized, but it was quite the opposite. Every child, despite their age, was super professional and keen on making the day special. In the beginning kids started working on the stage decor and all of them together hand painted a banner that will forever stay in our valuable archive.

Afterwards each of them chose an outfit for their mothers, then some went on organizing the set, the others were filming backstage and helping the hairstylists and make-up artists of our partner beauty studio G.Bar Tbilisi. Sofie-Anna, the daughter of Keti Kherkheulidze, showed some fine skills of make-up and made an amazing look for her mother. At some point even the grown ups thought they were on a very important duty.

Alexandra and Nanka, daughters of Tatuna Nikolaishvili, took over the styling with our stylist Elene Bakhtadze. Aleksandra Areshidze, great granddaughter of Vakhtang Kikabidze and daughter of Nata Rogava, was making polaroids of the ready models.

Giorgi, son of Manika, chose for his mom two stunning outfits — black total-look accompanied by chocolate brown 0711 accessories and a cocktail David Koma dress: “My mom should look stylish, but modest”, — he explained.

Aleksandra Areshidze also tried some styling for her mom, but then canceled her choice of Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili dress explaining that it’s too open.

Alisa, the daughter of Nino Chubinishvili (Chubika), was very good at make-up and hair-styling, creating look for Nata Rogava.

We also had a journalist, who was interviewing every participant — a little boy Luka, the elder son of Dina, our client and friend.

IERI’s owner and director Sofia Guguberidze refused to take part in the show, joking that her style squad still had not yet arrived. However supported the Georgian fashion theme of the show with a tailor-made Anouki outfit — a white blouse with a flower embroidered on the oversized bib-collar and a blue pleated skirt with a silver buckle.

After styling every mom, we did a small rehearsal, grouped all the kids together and introduced them to the public. Children were also the ones who created a line up for the show and managed the order of the models. After they were satisfied with the looks of the parents we started counting down to the start of the show. Right before walking down the catwalk a famous model and TV host – Manika Asatiani was saying that this is the best show she has ever walked for.

At this point mothers could not hide their nervousness but the sound of music made them eager to start the show. And then it started, kids were clapping, taking photos and cheering for their moms. Mothers were walking down the catwalk and dancing to the beats of IERI music. Natia Bakuradze closed the show in a white bridal style Anouki dress.

Father’s who also joined the show couldn't help admiring their beautiful wives.

The professionalism of the younger generation was a surprise to their own parents, who afterwards decided to purchase the looks that they were wearing. Overall the day was full of life and positivity — a true magic. IERI team is already looking for the upcoming events that would make our customers and friends happy.

Probably, launching a style school for kids would work? ;)
